Get LiveVault in one click
LiveVault is live on the Chrome Web Store. Installing from there gets you the same build as everywhere else on this site, plus automatic updates — no zip file, no Developer mode toggle.
Prefer to install manually?
Load it from source instead
Useful if you're on a Chromium browser without access to the Chrome Web Store, or you'd rather inspect the code before running it. Same build, same permissions, same data model — just without automatic updates.
Download and unzip
Get livevault-extension.zip below, then extract it — you'll get a folder, not a single file.
Open chrome://extensions
Paste that into your address bar, or Menu → Extensions → Manage Extensions.
Turn on Developer mode
The toggle is in the top-right corner of that page.
Click "Load unpacked"
Select the unzipped folder (the one containing manifest.json). LiveVault appears in your toolbar.
Loaded this way, Chrome shows a “Developer mode extensions” banner — expected, and specific to this install method, not the extension itself. It also won’t auto-update: re-download and reload it here whenever a new version ships, or just install from the Chrome Web Store above and skip this entirely.

It’s a brand-new listing, so there are no reviews or install counts to judge it by yet. Check the changelog for exactly what’s shipped and when instead.
